D2D Uploader Privacy Policy

BookUploadPro ("we," "us," "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the D2D Uploader Chrome Extension ("Extension").

By using the Extension, you consent to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

Account Information:

• Name, email address, and password
• Subscription plan and payment information
• Account preferences and settings

Extension Usage Data:

• Extension usage statistics and upload activity
• Draft2Digital platform connections
• Field mappings and workflow configurations
• Error logs and diagnostic information
• Browser tabs and active tab information (only when extension is active)

Technical Data:

• IP address, browser type, and device information
• Cookies and similar tracking technologies
• Log files and timestamps

Content Data:

We do not permanently store the actual content of your books or manuscripts. Book files (manuscripts and cover images) are temporarily held in the browser's IndexedDB storage for the duration of the upload session and are automatically cleared when the session ends or the Extension is closed. We only process metadata (titles, author names, descriptions, pricing, etc.) and relay this information to the Draft2Digital platform you authorize. The Extension operates only on Draft2Digital websites (draft2digital.com and my.d2d.draft2digital.com) and does not access or collect data from other websites.

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

• To provide and maintain the Extension service
• To authenticate your account and enable secure access
• To process your subscription and payment transactions
• To track usage limits and enforce subscription tiers
• To improve and optimize Extension functionality
• To send you service-related communications
• To detect and prevent fraud or security issues
• To comply with legal obligations

The Extension requires the following permissions to function:

• activeTab: To access the current Draft2Digital tab when you activate the Extension
• tabs: To interact with Draft2Digital browser tabs and monitor page state
• storage: To save your preferences, CSV data, and session state locally in the browser
• windows: To manage browser windows during the upload process

The Extension only accesses data from Draft2Digital websites (draft2digital.com and my.d2d.draft2digital.com) and our own API endpoints (webhook.bookuploadpro.com). It does not access or collect data from any other websites.

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data:

• Encrypted data transmission (TLS/SSL)
• Hashed and salted passwords
• Secure authentication tokens (JWT)
• Role-based access controls
• Regular security audits and updates

Your data is stored on our infrastructure using Supabase (authentication) and NocoDB (structured data and usage tracking). All data centers comply with industry security standards.

Book files are stored temporarily in the browser's IndexedDB and are automatically cleared at the end of each upload session. No book files are stored on our servers.

Authentication tokens are stored in browser chrome.storage.local (encrypted by Chrome) and are never transmitted to third parties.

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:

• Draft2Digital Platform: We transmit your book metadata to the Draft2Digital platform you authorize. Draft2Digital has its own privacy policy governing how they use this data.
• Service Providers: We may share data with trusted third-party service providers who assist in operating our service (hosting, payment processing, analytics).
• Legal Requirements: We may disclose data if required by law or to protect our legal rights.
• Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale, your data may be transferred to the acquiring entity.

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to enhance your experience, analyze usage patterns, and provide personalized features.

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:

• Extension Removal: You can uninstall the Extension at any time through your browser's extension management page. All locally stored data is automatically removed.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our service and comply with legal obligations.

Book files stored in browser IndexedDB are automatically cleared at the end of each upload session.

If you delete your account or uninstall the Extension, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or regulatory purposes.

Your information may be processed and stored in data centers located outside your country of residence. By using the Extension, you consent to the transfer of your data to these locations.

We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Our Extension is not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

If we discover that we have collected information from a child under 18, we will delete that information immediately.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.

Your continued use of the Extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
